Divorce and annulment applications are administered by the Family Court or Federal Magistrates Court of Australia.

To obtain a divorce or to annul your marriage, please contact your solicitor, the Family Court or the Federal Magistrates Court.

If you require evidence of a previous divorce, you will need to contact the court holding your divorce documents:

• if you were divorced in Victoria before 1976 you will need to contact the Supreme Court of Victoria
• if you were divorced in Victoria between 1976 and 2003 you will need to contact the Family Court of Australia
• if you were divorced in Victoria from 2004 onwards you will need to contact the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia.
