An online system, established by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), has streamlined the dispute resolution process between Victorian landlords and tenants.
The new system
'VCAT Online' allows registered users (acting on behalf of landlords or tenants) to electronically generate notices of dispute under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997. It also allows the electronic lodgement of applications to VCAT for a formal hearing to resolve matters if the notice is not complied with.
